This blog chronicles the lives of two female PhD students in Kildare, Ireland. It has two main sections, PhD Reality which will contain blogs of a more academic nature and (The Rest of) Reality which contains posts regarding how doing a PhD affects the rest of their lives.
It is a diary of sorts and is not meant to take any particular stance i.e. Feminist, Marxist etc. It simply represents the views of the two authors and guest authors. Further, it in no way represents the views of their respective departments, institution or that of the University of Maynooth.
It is hoped that this blog will encourage discussion, so all comments are welcome but please keep them polite and bullying of any sort will not be tolerated. All comments deemed inappropriate or offensive will be deleted without warning.
Please feel free to share our blog and of course, individual posts of interest but the authors retain the rights to all their work. Any quotes or anything paraphrased from this blog must be cited and referenced.
Finally, we want to thank you for taking the time to read and hopefully, enjoy our blog. We hope that it continues for a couple of years and graduates into something new as we graduate onto bigger and better things. Life is a journey and if we get our way this blog will be a diary of our journeys.
Aoife and Rachel.
